‘Journal of Farming Systems Research and Development’ is published by-annually in June & December by the society. Presently it has 555 Life members. The Society organized the "National Conference on Agro-Ecology Based Agri-Food Transformation Systems" during January 27-28, 2023 which was attended by over 350 delegates across pan India. ICAR-IIFSR, Modipuram: The ICAR-Indian Institute of Farming Systems Research (ICAR-IIFSR) which started as a simple fertilizer trial initiative on Cultivators Fields” in 1953 and has evolved significantly since its origin of 71 years. It transitioned through key phases, including its upgradation into ‘Project Directorate for Cropping Systems Research (PDCSR), during 7th which became functional in March, 1989 with its headquarters at Modipuram which later became the Project Directorate of Farming Systems Research (PDFSR) in 2010. Since 2014 it has been upgraded to full fledged institute as ICAR-Indian Institute of Farming Systems Research (IIFSR), Modipuram along with two major schemes i.e. AICRP on IFS (74 centres) and AINP-OF (20 co-operating centres) as an integral part of institute, covering 26 States/ UTs. Today, as a full-fledged institute, ICAR-IIFSR stands at the forefront of integrated and sustainable farming systems research and organic farming and natural farming research contributing to advancements in agricultural productivity, resource management, and socio-economic development.
